Our Hire Vets First Program, in coordination with the President's initiative, highlights the fact that Veterans bring a broad
range of skills, excellent training and proven character to the workplace.
Programs such as Certified Job Seekers, Customized Job Training, Expanded Youth Employment, Independent Capital Access Network and On-the-Job training are available to meet the various needs of today's employers
Financial Assistance:
The PA CareerLink Oil Region has programs available to meet the various needs of the employers, such as:
Customized Job Training (CJT): A program that will provide up to a 50% training reimbursement for employees who successfully complete training and are employed or continue to be employed by the company where they were trained.
Expanded Youth Employment (EYE): A program that will provide a wage subsidy to employers who hire unemployed or under-employed out-of-school youth, ages 18-21. The youth are hired with a probationary period as long as trhee months or 520 hours, whichever comes first. The program will provide a wage subsidy of up to $8.00 per hour. At the completion of a probationary period, based on performance reviews, the youth will continue in unsubsidized employment.
Independent Capital Access Network (ICAN): A program that provides grant funding to small business to support the purchase of specialized or adaptive equipment necessary to hire, retrain or promote qualified individuals with disabilities.
On-the-Job Training (OJT): A program designed to assist employers with training new hires and/or current employees by providing up to a 50% hourly wage reimbursement for as long as six (6) months. Participation in this program creates a practical, hands-on learning environment that assures a worker will be trained in a manner suitable to your needs.
Outplacement Services - Rapid Response Program:
The Rapid Response Program is an early intervention service established to assist employers and workers affected by lay-offs, plant closures or natural disasters. The intent is to assist companies before the lay-offs occur. For employers, the impact of laying off workers can be significant. Rapid Response services help alleviate the negative consequences of layoffs by helping the company:
